Lowell Observatory is an independent, non-profit research institution located in Flagstaff, Arizona – the world’s first International Dark-Sky City.

Lowell Observatory’s library, archives, and artifacts are housed in the Putnam Collection Center (PCC). The mission of the PCC is to collect, preserve, make available, exhibit, and interpret objects of historical significance to Lowell Observatory. Our collections include documents, photographs, glass plate negatives, blueprints and drawings, maps, audiovisual materials, 3D objects, rare books, meteorites, textiles, and Percival Lowell’s 1911 Stevens-Duryea touring car (Big Red).
